The Afrobeat takeover continues, with the UK’s biggest free paper profiling the scene in today’s edition. The article charts the rise of the genre, and names Wizkid as one of its leading lights.
Describing Wizkid as, “afrobeats royalty in Nigeria” they go on to track his beginnings and note his “real international clout”.
In the feature, Wizkid is quoted saying; “Afrobeats is music that gives people joy; it comes from the soul and it’s a universal language. The world will gravitate towards good music because it’s good music. And this is good music. It travels.”
