The Masked magician took home Best Electronic Award at the 2018 EMAs.
This Sunday the world’s music titans descended on Bilbao, Spain for the 2018 MTV European Music Awards.
In a star-studded ceremony at the Bizkaia Arena, Hailee Steinfeld hosted a night which saw live performances from Nicki Minaj, Muse, Janet Jackson and David Guetta.
Lindsey Lohan proclaimed Marshmello the winner of Best Electronic act, beating off stiff competition from Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Martin Garrix and The Chainsmokers.
After taking the stage, Lindsey tried to coax some words out of the silent musician, but was unsuccessful. She then said that he wished to thank his team, family, supporters and – of course – the Mellogang.
Shortly after taking home his award, Marshmello closed out the ceremony with a live performance of “Friends” and “Happier” with Anne-Marie and Bastile.
