Not3s Wins Artist Of The Year AT GRM Awards

The biggest award ceremony in grime, the KA & GRM Daily Rated Awards, took place in London’s Hammersmith Apollo last night.

Taking away the big prize on a star-studded night was Not3s, who won Artist of the Year. The Hackney rapper beat off stiff competition from Yxng Bane, Nines, Dave, Stefflon Don and Hardy Capiro to score the top gong of the night.

Taking to the stage the 20 year old artist said; “You know this is mad, man – big up everyone who was nominated, can’t lie that was a tough one and big up all of you.”

The accolades didn’t stop there for Not3s as he also took home the coveted Track of the Year award for his collaboration with AJ Tracey, “Butterflies”.

Not3s wasn’t the only Echo Location artist to be honoured last night. Michael Dapaah AKA Big Shaq took home Personality of the Year beating out host Mo The Comedian, heavy weight champ Anthony Joshua and Chicken Shop Date’s Amelia Dimoldenburg.

On accepting the award, Dapaah said; “Don’t let anyone stop you from what you want to do.”

He added: “It’s mad, I just want to thank God for this. You know a couple of years ago we weren’t here and now we’re here – don’t let anyone stop you from what you want to do. Big up to the females in this category and all the other entertainers; big up yourself, this one’s for you.”

Finally, Charlie Sloth has some fire in the booth for himself as he took home Radio DJ of the Year in a category packed to the brim with talent, including DJ Target, Kenny Allstar, Julie Adenuga, Tim Westwood and Semtex.

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
